Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you’re all safe and healthy amid this COVID-19 chaos. š
Goodreads Monday is a weekly meme created byĀ Laurenās Page Turners. All you have to do to participate isĀ pick a book from your Goodreads TBR, and explain why you want to read it.
I’m not an avid mystery fan, but I’m a sucker for paranormal fantasy-type books.Ā Missing, Presumed Dead,Ā if all is well-executed, seems like a twisty, feminist paranormal mystery.
Let’s begin, shall we?
GOODREADS MONDAY (3/16/20)–MISSING, PRESUMED DEAD by Emma Berquist
With a touch, Lexi can sense how and when someone will die. Some say itās a gift. But to Lexi itās a curseāone that keeps her friendless and alone. All that changes when Lexi foresees the violent death of a young woman, Jane, outside a club. But Jane doesnāt go to the afterlife quietly. Her ghost remains behind, determined to hunt down her murderer, and she needs Lexiās help. In life, Jane was everything Lexi is notāoutgoing, happy, popular. But in death, all Jane wants is revenge. Lexi will do anything to help Jane, to make up for the fact that she didnātācouldnātāsave Janeās life, and to keep this beautiful ghost of a girl by her side for as long as possible.
So why do I want to read this?Ā
Though I haven’t read any Stephen King (save forĀ On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft),Ā this is giving me some very similar vibes. I’m excited to see how this melding of paranormal fantasy and murder mystery plays out. I’d forgotten about this one for a while, I should check it out soon! š
Oh, and it’s shelved as LGBTQ+ on Goodreads! šš
Today’s song:
