Happy April, guys! This book is one that I bought recently on my kindle (and liked)

(ACK! THIS IMAGE IS SO BIG 😳)

Varjak Paw

This story follows Varjak, a purebred Mesopotamian Blue. He is shunned by his family because his eyes aren’t the correct color for the breed. But one day, the Gentleman and his twin black cats invade the house, and Varjak escapes and leaves his family behind. Now outside, he must find his way home through the city, with dangerous cat gangs and the infamous Sally Bones on the loose. Can Varjak come back home and save his family?

For all cat people (and dog people too, I guess. There is a funny little dg in this book), this is the book for you! Meow! Randomness!

Book Review Tuesday (3/29/16)-Nooks and Crannies

Hi everyone! Sorry about last week, but hey-gifs. GIFS!

ANYWAY…I’m doing this book for an independent book report at school, and so I figured that I might as well review it here. This was a great book-in short, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory meets Enola Holmes! Cool, right? Then read the review!

Nooks and Crannies

Tabitha Crum is a middle-class girl living in London with parents who don’t love her and a mouse, nicknamed Sir Pemberley, as her only friend. But one day, she receives a mysterious letter from the secretive Countess of Windermere, inviting her and five other children to stay at her mansion-and one of these children may be her heir! She soon arrives, along with (from left to right on the cover) Viola Dale, Barnaby Trundle, Oliver Appleby, Frances Wellington, and Edward Herringbone. Soon, suspicous things start to appear, and a murder occurs. Can Tabitha put her skills to the test and solve the case?

I really enjoyed this book, and I can’t wait to make the poster for this report! Hope you like it!

Book Review Tuesday (3/15/16)-The Five Lives of Our Cat Zook

Hi! I’m kind of running out of books to review, so today I’m doing a book I read at the library this summer that I liked. CATS!

12735988.jpg

The Five Lives of Our Cat Zook

Oona and her five year old brother Fred adore their cat Zook*. But he’s getting old, and he has to stay at the vet because of an illness. Oona tries to console Fred and tell him that this is just one out of Zook’s nine lives and makes up stories about Zook’s already lived lives. All the while, Oona keeps wondering-is Zook going to make it?

I really liked this book, and in honor of, well, you know, cats, I took a picture of one of my cats with this book (I may post it later). Enjoy!

Book Review Tuesday (3/8/16)-Warriors-Rise of Scourge

This post is somewhat historic-the first ever Manga to make it onto BRT! I know I posted a Warriors book last week, but I just read this and it is AWESOME! Scourge-stereotypical villain, but awesome and Grand High Lord of Karma. Really, if you read this, you’d understand.

Warriors_Rise_of_scourge.jpg

Warriors-Rise of Scourge

This is the untold story of Scourge-the infamous tyrant leader of BloodClan, a group of cats bent on destroying the forest Clans and taking it for themselves. As a kit, Scourge, then known as Tiny, was the runt and outcast. It seemed that even his mother prefered his siblings over him. But when he grows older and runs away from home, he meets ThunderClan cats-Bluefur, Thistleclaw, and Tigerpaw. Bluefur was fine, but Thistleclaw wanted Tiny out-and ordered Tigerpaw to attack the little kit. Tiny was haunted by the two cats ever since, and he set out on a mission to destroy the clans forever.

Seriously, this is a COOL BOOK. Technically Manga, but STILL. Cool!!!!

Book Review Tuesday (3/1/16)-Warriors: Super Edition-Yellowfang’s Secret

Happy March!

Today, I had virtually NO idea what to post, so I just did a Warriors Super Edition like I said I would. This one in particular is one of my faves because DUH, ITS YELLOWFANG. DUDE, SHE IS LIKE THE BEST CHARACTER IN THE WARRIORS UNIVERSE. Well, to heck with hyperbole, let’s get on with it.

9780062082169_p0_v2_s260x420.JPG

This story follows the life of Yellowfang, first her troubled childhood,  her confusion as an apprentice, and her eventual decision to become a medicine cat as a warrior. Then, her ill-fated love with Raggedstar, her forbidden kits, and the fate of that kit-the kit who would rise to be one of the worst tyrants of them all.

Well, I hope you are vaguely convinced so PEACE OUT I’M GOING TO PLAY SOME MINECRAFT NOW. Oh, sorry, goodbye. Don’t blame me, IT’S TUESDAY. 😑

Book Review Tuesday (2/16/16)-Unusual Chickens for the Exceptional Poultry Farmer

Hello again! Today I’m telling you about a book that I JUST FINISHED about an hour ago…I’m serious. It was kinda short. But it was great!

UnusualChickens.jpg

Unusual Chickens for the Exceptional Poultry Farmer

Sophie Brown has just moved to L.A., where she and her family inherit her great-uncle’s farm. While poking around in the yard, Sophie finds a white hen. The hen seems normal-she’s healthy, kind of irascible, and lays decent eggs. But then Sophie discovers that this hen is-yes-a telekinetic hen. Now, Sophie realizes that she must save all of her uncle’s previous chickens (all unusual) before its too late.

This was an absolutely funny and clever book, and I hope you enjoy! 🙂

Book Review Tuesday (2/9/16)-Warriors: Super Edition-Moth Flight’s Vision

I know I said earlier that I wouldn’t do Warrior cats stuff because virtually everyone knows about it. But I just had to do this because of the SHEER AMAZINGNESS OF IT ALL

IT MADE ME CRY!!!! TWICE!! And I will not say why because the reasons are both spoilers.  Quite saddening spoilers. Okay, lets get on with the review:

SE-8.jpg

Warriors: Super Edition- Moth Flight’s Vision

Moth Flight, a warrior of early WindClan and daughter of leader Wind Runner, has always been a daydreamer. Instead of hunting, she would rather chase butterflies and collect little leaves she finds. The rest of the Clan thinks she’s utterly useless. But when suddenly has dreams of dead cats and a certain green moth, things are about to change. Moth Flight is destined to be the first Medicine Cat and discover the Moonstone-a place where the spirit cats freely visit the living in their dreams. Can she convince the Clans of her significance? Will she be a worthy Medicine Cat?

Well, I hope you are convinced. Now that I’ve posted this, I’ll post MORE Warriors Super Editions! MWA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!! Oh, sorry.

When Emily finds a copy of an Edgar Allan Poe book on the sidewalk, she’s excited. But little does she know that it holds a puzzle, secrets, and yes-typos. YES! TYPOS! Will she figure out the mystery of this little book, and who made the puzzle in the first place?

Well, good bye and have fun freezing your butts off, CO. Hahaha, sorry. Well, bye.
